Title: WWI Portrait, Unmarred

This evocative mixed-media collage centers on a powerful sepia-toned military portrait, distinguished by the subject's direct gaze and broad-brimmed campaign hat. Unlike many of my other works, the man's face remains unmarred by paint, retaining his full individual identity and the dignity of his official posture.

The portrait is framed by a rich, distressed background built from layered ephemera, including torn newspaper fragments, technical diagrams, and comic or illustrative figures.  A horse figure—act as subtle, grounding elements at the bottom, adding depth without distracting from the subject. The raw, torn edges of the central photograph enhance the sense of found history.

This work appeals to collectors who appreciate military history, subtle collage techniques, and portraits where the subject's identity is intentionally preserved and highlighted against a chaotic, historical background.
