Why "Beard, Redacted" is More Than a Portrait

Hi! This is ArtShowRoadie. You'll find my work under Mystic Mayhem.
In my previous life as a consultant, "redacted" was a term of limitation—information removed for safety or privacy. Now that I’ve transitioned into the studio full-time, I’m reclaiming that word. In art, redaction isn't about hiding; it's about emphasis through absence.
"Beard, Redacted" is one of my favorite studies in this concept. By taking a traditional subject and applying bold, "redacted" layers, I’m inviting you to look past the obvious features. It’s a piece built on texture and mystery, designed for those who appreciate a story that unfolds over time rather than all at once.
This work represents my own journey: stripping away the corporate "data" to reveal the raw, creative energy underneath. It’s structured, it's bold, and it’s a centerpiece for any modern collection.
