The People You Meet

Golf course bar crowd
I'm not a struggling artist.  I've been making a living at this for a long time and I feel very blessed.  That said, art doesn't always sell and I have a family to support so I've been working at a local golf course as a bartender for a long time.  I love it.  I love the way I have to think different.  I serve drinks, I make my customers feel welcome and those customers have become like family.  They are gregarious and gentle, loud and kind and generous.  I work alone so much that I look forward to working at the golf course and interacting with people in a very different way than at an art show.  This clears my head, keeps my listening skills sharp and my people skills on-point.  Not the family I was born with, but the family I chose.
