Oscar

Some pieces demand a simple name.
"Oscar" arrived in the studio like it already knew who it was. No overthinking, no clever title, just Oscar. Sometimes that's exactly what a piece needs - a name that feels like an introduction, not an explanation.
There's a presence to this work that I don't entirely understand, and I'm okay with that. Not every painting needs to be dissected or analyzed. Some just need to exist, to take up space, to be themselves. Oscar does that beautifully.
The palette here feels both grounded and unexpected - colors that shouldn't work together but create something that holds your attention. That's what I'm always chasing in the studio: the moment when technique steps aside and something else takes over.
