Day 3: #MarchMeetTheMaker - Creativity Isn’t A Lightning Bolt, It’s Hard Work

Day 3: #MarchMeetTheMaker - Creativity Isn’t A Lightning Bolt, It’s Hard Work

Just because I’m an artist doesn’t mean I’m sitting around waiting for creativity to strike. My days start with getting my boys off to school then cleaning up the fallout of our morning rush. After I see there is order in the house, my head is clear and I’m ready to create.  If it’s still cold outside I’ll update social media but mostly I want to get paint on my hands (which usually migrates to my pants, shirt and hair). Because I paint lots of layers, I will have several pieces in progress at once.  Painting is also a game of patience.  Paint layers need time to dry, so when I find myself waiting, dogs get walked, laundry gets folded and carpets get vacuumed.

Time flies when I’m busy creating.
